How appropriate is it to buy tickets while traveling?
Sometimes passengers want to buy tickets after boarding the train. This is possible, but only if there are empty seats available. An additional charge is levied in addition to the normal fare.
What to do if you have a lost or torn ticket?
If your ticket is lost or torn during the journey, you are not considered a ticketless passenger. You can get a duplicate ticket from the TTE, but it is not free. You will have to pay a certain amount and present a valid ID proof for verification.
